The LT’s, The Druids, The NOBS, The Twilighters?
Now is your club’s chance to compare how good a team you are as compared to the top teams around the world. In Edmonton, Alberta, Canada attend the 2005 World Masters Games for a chance to win a World Championship. Unlike the Golden Oldies type event this is a competitive tournament.
The games will be played at Ellerslie Rugby Park, Canada’s finest Rugby facility with 5 regulation pitches, 14 changing rooms, a Rugby shop and a large Bar and eating area featuring the normal Rugby hospitality.
In addition there will be two huge Rugby socials, “Try and Score” which was the hit of the Melbourne Masters Games and “Banger in the Hanger” which is an Edmonton Rugby Fest tradition.
All games will be refereed by qualified referees and there will be Physio services and first aid stations on site.
Since Edmonton is the home of the world’s largest shopping centre and has many other visitor sites there will also be lots to do off the field. There will be 27 sports in attendance and we expect over 20,000 athletes to compete.
Why not start putting your team together now. Just because we are older it does not mean we are less competitive and there will be lots of competition here. We already have several teams entered and I am aware that several Edmonton, Calgary and Vancouver Clubs are planning on entering all four divisions.
